Who We Are

ERS is a national nonprofit that partners with district, school, and state leaders to transform how they use resources—people, time, and money—so that every school prepares every child for tomorrow, no matter their race or income.

Our work integrates data analysis, design and implementation. We start with an analysis of existing strategy and resource allocation in school systems mapped against best practice. We then focus on five resource-intensive areas of the strategic system as illustrated.

ERS has partnered with more than 40 school systems since 2005, as well as several states. In all our work, we focus on the larger picture—how resources work together to create strategic systems that support strong schools. Our nonprofit status enables a different kind of partnership with districts and states: one where we participate in the transformation struggle, create insights together, and share lessons with others. Learn more about our partnerships with districts and states.

“For the last decade ERS has been the gold standard of whom urban districts want to work with to understand how to organize resources for greater impact. What stands out are data analytics, tools and the ability to go really deep.”

Tom Boasberg
Superintendent of Denver Public Schools [ERS Partner District]

We are headquartered in Watertown, MA, just outside Boston, and our West Coast office is located in San Francisco.
