    Budget Partners Retreat * Edit

This three-day training brings state-of-the-art practice to school district budget staff by delving deeply into the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to allocate resources strategically across schools and to support school leaders to organize resources for high performance. The programs is designed for district leaders who are working to transform their central offices from transactional, compliance organizations into high functioning service partners with schools--making the challenging work of organizing schools for high performance easier accomplish.

The sessions employ best practices of adult learning and actively engage participating leaders in collaborative group work that directly relates to their work. The three days include sessions on strategic school design, applying hypothesis-driven analysis to school support, Excel training, ERS’ Budget Hold’em for Districts, and transforming difficult conversations into learning conversations, with breakout sessions for district teams to reflect and debrief on how these concepts apply to their district work.

This work on strategy has been invaluable - we do compliance work all the time, but finance is often overlooked as a strategic thought partner.

Next Retreat is scheduled for Spring, 2018 for California districts.

This retreat is best suited to districts already actively engaged in making a shift from a “functional/transactional” team to a more proactive strategic one. Please contact us if your district would like to apply to send a team.

It was a great learning experience for me. I am now reflecting on my own practices-past and present-and how I can improve.

The next School Design Summit is scheduled for the summer of 2019.

Please contact us if your district would like to send a team.
